Join LACASA’s Shine the Light campaign this October in remembrance of victims and in honor of survivors’ courage.

Area businesses and residents are invited to shine purple lights in store windows, porch lights, or residential streetlamps.

Campaign posters to accompany the lights are available at LACASA with the message: Domestic Violence Has No Place in Our Community.

This initiative is part of Purple Light Nights®, a national movement to raise awareness about domestic violence.

LACASA is the first organization in Michigan to adopt this program.

“We are excited about the response this campaign is receiving from the community,” said Nicole Matthews-Creech, LACASA Community Education Director.

“Supporters are eager to take the shame out of domestic violence by illuminating purple lights that signify hope and courage.”

“There is power in numbers” Creech said. “We look forward to seeing the county illuminated in purple, the national domestic violence cause color.”
